Dr. Gikonyo has vast experience in managing the operations of catering departments. She did a Master’s degree in Hospitality Management from Cornell University and a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from Kenyatta University. She worked in Kibondeni College for several years and consequently set up the cafeteria system of Strathmore University. She then assisted in starting the hospitality school in the university and developed the curriculum of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Hospitality Management and Tourism Management.
Her area of expertise is in food and beverage production and hospitality sciences. She obtained the PhD in Franchise Management at Strathmore University.
